Kauai: Thursday? All About the Pool!

We spent our entire day at the vacation house - just enjoying our time together in the pool.  It works out so well because our bedroom is right off the pool, so we can keep an eye on the kids during naptimes, etc...  (Joe and I take turns with Luke inside when he isn't asleep.)

I guess one of our favorite parts of today is the turtle watching  - WOW!  There are so many turtles and we can see them throughout the day!  I took various pictures during the day and posted a few below.

Samuel also put on snorkel gear for the first time today...  I have to say, he had me beat on my first attempt (but that isn't saying much since I did AWFUL the first time!)  :-)  We were both so proud of him - he just gets right in there and gives new things a try.

And the picture below, where he is holding the tray?  We were done with lunch and I looked up and he had grabbed the tray and decided to help us out and take it to the kitchen.  When I offered to help, he said "no, no... I got this mom!"  He carried it all the way to the kitchen without being asked.  This melted my heart.

Samuel, Luke and Joe just got back from a walk - Samuel was SO excited as he saw two "Gary the Geckos!"  He loves to find them...  he also brought back some sort of berry to feed to the turtles.  He is such a good kid.

This gave me a HUGE SMILE! Holy cow, he is so amazing in the water. I've never seen a kid like him. Maybe it was all those hours we spent in the pool, or should I say storage container when he was a wee one :) Or more like, he has the best swim coach as a dad! Anyways, it looks like such a fun trip. I am so happy you are able to do these types of things as a family. Pretty cool. Miss you lots!

Love,
Jamie
